Foster care

I've been excepted into the foster care program at the Tallahassee Animal Shelter

Lynx is hopefully the first animal of many that I will be able to help, heal and find a home. He's been great, just had some pink eye and a slight URI but he's doing great now and he'll be on his way back to the shelter this week to hopefully find a home. This was an easy one, there's animals with much bigger behavioral and medical problems including a poor dog that was burned severely most likely by a gang initiation.

I also wanted to thank everyone for coming down over Thanksgiving, it was great to see everyone and I'm lucky we get to do it all again in a couple weeks. I came home and got out the Christmas decorations out and just bought some ingredients for wassail. It's gonna be a warm and cozy couple of weeks! It will also be long as I'll be working everyday till I leave. Ho-hum.

Mom, Max really enjoys the gift you gave us... He hangs out in there so the other cats 'forget' about him and he LOVES the newspaper

Catching Up

How many times in my life have I been able to run around buying Christmas presents in only jeans and a short sleeve t-shirt with the windows rolled all the way down! I have our little tree up, I bought just a red tree skirt to add some color and now I'll be able to add some gifts underneath. We have stockings at work so I went to the dollar store and got 4x6 magnet photo holders. Simple yet useful. We are starting into our December graduation season so it'll be getting busy, but I'll need to get it all done before I leave for my extended vacation to Michigan and Iowa! However I might need some help with clothes since my carry-on is going to be filled with gifts and not toiletries for visits.

On to more recreation, there are sooooo many mountain bike trails that cut through go around up and down... and I'm not the best biker so I've mainly stayed to the basic or multi-use (wider for runners and strollers/burleys) however I don't have a helmet yet and my skin doesn't heal as well as it used to when I tip over onto tree trunks. It's fun and you don't realize how many miles you've gone but it can cause some anxiety when you can't focus on the trail ahead because you're worried about the bumpy roots you tried to pick the "path of least resistance" through. Here's the hyperlink to Tom Brown Park bike trails. No I have still not seen an alligator. Can't wait to see you all in a couple weeks! Tis the season!
